Fun with Children
Around Rožňava you'll find plenty of places where the whole family can have fun. The town swimming pool in Rožňava and reservoirs such as Teplý Vrch or Úhorná offer refreshment in summer. Enjoy fun and contact with animals at Mini Zoo Watani near Rožňava. More adventurous types will love the Tarzania Dobšinka rope park near Dobšinská Ice Cave, and the Water Castle in Štítnik is another interesting trip idea. Don't miss the local attraction of hand-made glass baubles, made right in Štítnik.

Hiking in the Slovak Karst
The surroundings of Rožňava are an ideal place for hiking enthusiasts. Head out on a hike into the Slovak Karst, explore the Silická or Plešivecká plateau, or climb Volovec, the highest peak of the Slovak Karst, with wonderful views. For more adventurous types, the nearby Slovak Paradise offers adrenaline-filled routes with ladders, footbridges and waterfalls that guarantee a unique experience.
History
Educational Trips
Set out to discover the history and nature of the Gemer region. Along with Betliar Manor (see above), visit the monumental Andrássy Mausoleum in Krásnohorské Podhradie, or the Mining Museum in Rožňava, a technical monument capturing the region's rich mining past. The Water Mill in Kováčová is a unique technical monument of the Gemer region, set in beautiful natural surroundings and an ideal place for a peaceful trip combined with discovering history.
