In the second half of the 20th century, Hotel KRAS was one of the most significant guesthouses in Rožňava. Located on Šafárikova Street, just a short walk from the historic town centre, it hosted domestic and international visitors, business travellers, and participants of cultural events in the Gemer region.

August 1968
A Turbulent Chapter in Modern History
The building also became part of the town's modern history — in August 1968, during the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia, Soviet soldiers fired shots near the building.

Transformation into a Modern, Multi-Purpose Building
The building underwent renovation and was transformed into a modern, multi-purpose building combining commercial space with accommodation. Today, the ground and first floors house a hairdresser, a dental practice, a tailor, and a massage studio.

The third floor of the building belongs to Ubytovanie KRAS — 17 rooms and apartments, with around 38 beds in total, for individuals, families, groups and corporate clients.
